A big thank you to all of you for visiting my website. While I’m still learning the basics of creating a website, I will be updating it occasionally to keep it interesting. While you’re here, please take a moment to read the first two chapters of Serendipity House.
Although it started out as a formula romance to catch the attention of category romance publishers, I soon realized that it didn't truly reflect my tastes. My reading and writing pleasure leans more towards women's fiction. Thus, my characters face problems just like the rest of us. They have issues with their families, lose loved ones, and struggle to fill their lives with friends they treasure, a way of life that nurtures them, and a special someone who holds the same things dear.
As a newly published author, I invite suggestions for improving my website, which you may leave in the contact section. Any comments—about the excerpt, the book, or the website—are welcome.

Fennel of The Long and Short of It says, "This story is full of wonderful people who all have an integral part to play to bring Alex and Sylvie together. This is balanced by the other half of the cast who are equally intent on keeping them apart. Conflict, goal, and motivation! This book has them all. Ms DeBacco’s understanding of human nature creates a heart warming story that, for me, is a ‘keeper’."

Bonnie-Lass of Coffeetime Romance says, "Serendipity House is a light, fun romance. Although Sylvie seems a bit too naïve at times, her character is likeable. Alex is a strong male, whom Sylvie certainly gives a run for his money. The other characters are just as endearing, especially Alex’s grandmother. Ms. DeBacco certainly sets the scene of the Poconos in all its beauty through the seasons. The reader is easily able to capture the feeling of the countryside through the pages of this book. The romance is sweet, yet inviting in this cozy novel."

Stevi B. of Manic Readers says, "If you love eccentric characters, charming old inns, nature, and stories about finding yourself, characters who grow into someone they want to be, and of course romance, you will love the first half of this story. If you love conflict, an emotional tug of war, steamy scenes, and seemingly impossible situations, you will love the second half of the story. If you want an entertaining read, you will enjoy the whole book!"

Bobby of Bookwenches says, "Joyce DeBacco’s novel Serendipity House is a story about love, family, and perseverance set in the beautiful Pocono Mountains. It features a heroine who is trying to get out from under the thumb of an overbearing mother, a hero who has too many secrets, the young couple who help run the inn, a handful of lovable geriatrics, and a shadowy antagonist who lurks in the background. If you enjoy a family-oriented style of romance that proceeds at a leisurely pace and that is populated with characters who seem like people you might know, then Serendipity House should probably be on your reading list."

Rita of Ritareviews says, "When Joyce DeBacco sent me a copy of this book the first thing I liked was the cover art. It makes you just want to read the book. The story was wonderful. I loved Sylvie. She is trying so hard to be her own woman. I can relate to her in so many ways. I think that is one of the reasons I enjoyed this book as much as I did. I recommend everyone read this and find out for yourself if poor, lost Sylvie manages to find herself."

Meg Kinsella of The Romance Studio says, "Joyce DeBacco has done a wonderful job of dealing with such deep emotional issue as mother-daughter conflicts. She does an excellent job in making you both see and feel with the heroine who feels she has never made her mom happy. We have all had the experiences she describes so accurately in the book. This book deals with all the different interpersonal relationships we have and we see Sylvie grow and become a stronger better person through these relationships. I really enjoyed this book even when I was cringing from reading some of the conversations between mothers and daughters. I felt a bit like I was sitting in the corner listening."
